Surroundings

Rohonc is situated 14 km from Kőszeg, on the Austrian side of the Kőszeg Hills

The history of the settlement is strongly bonded to Kőszeg’s past. After World War I it was annexed to Austria, to the district of today’s Burgenland. Its most popular tourist attraction is Lake Rohonc, which now operates as a beach. The artificial lake is fed by a small stream from the hills. Thank to this, its water keeps refreshing even in the biggest heat.
