Határmenti Vigadó

Restaurant

An old-styled Hungarian Csárda (old Hungarian term for a tavern), nestled in the wine hills next to the forest, provides visitors with a panoramic terrace which will enhance this unique experience.

Only 300 meters from the Austrian border, the csárda is located on a wine hill, and is a frequented place for both Austrians and Hungarians. This is due to its traditional Hungarian gastronomy and the way it recalls the old Hungarian „csárda” experience. Csárdas were places which served simple, but tasteful food and wine to hungry travellers. The smaller room of the building is a former „présház” (‘press house’), which is featured by historic, folklore-designed furniture. The larger room has a búbos kemence, a traditional furnace in the center, which is responsible for heating in winter months.

The establishment places a huge emphasis on traditional dishes and quality wines are served.

The restaurant aims to recall and preserve the tastes and atmosphere of the old Hungarian kitchen. Live music makes the time spent here even more memorable. The remains of the infamous Iron Curtain can also be visited here.
