Draisine Tour

Surroundings

The 23 km road connects the „country of Kékfrankos” (Neckenmarkt) and the center of Central-Burgenland (Oberpullendorf, Felsőpulya), passing by the marvelous vineyards, shadowy forests, romantic villages and beautiful sunflower fields. The former Kőszeg-Sopron railway was turned into a draisine path.

Several sights can be seen on the way:

-The ruins of the Ránzsér Castle, which was the largest defensive castle of Central Europe

-The hilltop church of Stoob decorated by Romantic style frescos.

-The Castle Museum of Lackenbach (Lakompak).

-The house of birth of Franz Liszt in Raiding (Doborján).

-The Museum of Architecture in Neutal.

Starting stations and destinations of the Sonnenland Draisine Tour:

-Oberpullendors train station

-Horitschon/Neckenman train station

The draisines go only one direction each day.

On even-numbered dates they go from Hiritschon/Neckenman to Oberpullendorf, while on odd-numbered days they start from Oberpullendorf and arrive at Hiritschon/Neckenman
