The Castle Theatre is considered to be one of the most popular cultural attractions of the region, since the castle serves as a unique setting for the theatrical performances.
The Castle Theatre (Várszínház) was established in 1982, and since then it has been operating with outstanding success. At the beginning, mostly historic dramas were staged here. Later on, comedies were preferred. Since 1996, proses aren’t the only type of performance that dominate the stage, but operas operettas, classical music concerts, pop concerts, dance shows and folklore programs are also presented here.
